Sites of Refuge Replanting Ceremony
A small ceremony was held this week to plant the ashes of the prayers collected at the Tree of Refuge over Christmas in Liverpool City Centre. These prayers were read, prayed for and burned so that the ashes could become part of the tree making it a living prayer. During a short ceremony to plant the ashes a cheque was donated by Jean Flood on behalf of Mission in the Economy to Nadine Daniels from Hope+ Foodbank. The money, a grand total of £2700.17, was donated by members of the public at the Crib over the Christmas period. The replanting was attended by volunteers who staffed the Crib and tree over Christmas through the wind and rain as well as representatives from other organisations involved. Thank you all for your help over the period and throughout the rest of the year!
