With increasing pressures and rapid change in the workplace, even the most stable and calm people can experience anxiety and concern.  Mental health affects all of us and our ability to adapt and thrive can fluctuate daily.  What if a lot of issues could be alleviated and resolved by talking to someone who will listen?  Often there is a fear in the workplace that seeking support can be seen as a weakness or an admission of incapability.  This is not the case, it is a keen self-awareness that recognises that things are not as they should be and a strength to seek to put this right.

MitE Listening can provide a safe and confidential space for people to find their balance and re-centre themselves.  The support provided is gentle and enabling, encouraging people to find their own solutions and affirming their ability and confidence.  A listening service is not counselling, we don’t give advice and we don’t ask questions about what is shared by the speaker.  We offer a safe space without judgement for people to speak about anything that is on their mind for up to 30 minutes.  We reflect back what has been said and encourage the caller to find their own way forward.

MitE Listening is part of MitE Chaplaincy and, in line with our policies at MitE Chaplaincy, we do not seek to convert, evangelise or preach.  We come alongside people, providing a friendly listening ear to people of all faiths and none.  As an independent presence in the workplace, we are ideally placed to provide a confidential and safe space to enable those they meet to flourish in their work life, wellbeing and spirituality.

How does it work?
Employers engage MitE Listening and employees may either self-refer or be referred by their employer.  Listening sessions are booked directly with MitE Listening and the service user.

Option 1: Phone call
Service users can book sessions of 30 minutes with the listening service.  Appointments would be made weekly.  The caller will ring the specified number at an agreed time.
Option 2: Video call
Service users can book sessions of 30 minutes with the listening service.  Appointments would be made weekly.  The caller will connect with the listener via a secure video-link.

  • MitE will provide a confidential listening service that will support users from your organisation.

  • MitE will treat all matters discussed with discretion and confidentiality unless it is a safeguarding concern.
